Our pavers are very high strength (58.m.p.a.) Level site, compact Road Base dampened down in 75mm layers as to make a good hard base. Then 20-30mm of damp course sand also well compacted down, then lay pavers. All edge pavers must be concreted so as to prevent the bedding material from washing out, or moving. Broom Paver joint filling sand in and hose lightly, it will set when dry. We can supply with order. DO NOT CLEAN DOWN WITH ACID.

Colour and Thickness Variation |
As a hand made product using natural materials ZOCPAVE pavers and tiles will have surface imperfections, colour variation and some chipping. Should the order be greater than one pallet the pallets must be blended during laying. Chipped pavers should be put aside for cutting. We do not accept responsibility for normal - natural inbuilt variations. The Australian Standard allows for thickness variation of 3mm either way. Chipped or damaged pavers up to 4% are considered to be within acceptable industry standards and will not be replaced.
Always adopt good licensed paver layers who are familiar with laying the larger concept in Paving and Bullnosing. (AS IT NEEDS TO BE INDIVIDUALLY LAID AND LEVELLED) layers must keep pavers clean as they are laid, cover if possible DO NOT PUSH WHEELBARROWS OVER NEW PAVERS, REMEMBER IT IS EASIER TO KEEP CLEAN THAN TO TRY AND REMOVE STAINS AFTER ~ If you are employing a paving layer, ensure you engage a reliable, reputable, competent tradesperson. Ask for a reference from another customer to make sure you will be happy with the finished job. Your paving outlet should be able to make a recommendation. ~ Whilst most paving layers would have experience laying and cutting our pavers, when grouting, pavers must be washed with clean water and a sponge, as you go . NEVER USE ACID. Acid will erode the concrete surface/paver. Level site so water is drained away from pavers.
As with most tiles of this type, subasio Stone must be cut with a wet diamond saw of good quality and SAW DUST MUST BE WASHED OFF IMMEDIATELY BEFORE IT DRIES with CLEAN WATER and sponge or soft brush.
All ZOCPAVE pavers MUST BE LAID AND LEVELLED INDIVIDUALLY at the time of drying ~ If a compactor plate is used then the metal base must be covered with a double layer of carpet to prevent chipping. Compact bedding material layer by layer to obtain good base.
IT IS ESSENTIAL TO KEEP THE PAVERS OR TILES CLEAN and free from soil oxides, cement, mortar droppings, leaves, bark, rubber marks, etc. during laying as these will possibly stain the pavers. Cover if necessary. DO NOT USE ACID. We recommend sealing as it makes the pavers easier to clean and stops weathering. In particular BBQ areas, driveways, leafy or muddy areas to prevent staining. There are many suitable sealers available. Sealer can also be ordered with paving.
Whilst ZOCPAVE have few problems with this due to our high quality, method of manufacture and on going research in this area it is none the less a potential problem to the clay and masonry industry. As it is beyond our control no guarantees are given. If efflorescence appears it is visible as a uniform white powder on the surface and is sometimes mistaken as fading. Major industry studies show that weathering will eliminate the problem or in most cases the application of a sealer will either prevent or cure the potential problem.
